Last weekend saw the YMC Silent Scores Festival and Concerto Prize taking place. Students had the opportunity to present programme of two pieces, one of which had to by by a female composer, to a distinguished panel of adjudicators. The winning student from each class now has the opportunity to perform one of their pieces with the professional YMC Concerto Prize Orchestra on Sunday 4th June 2023, 5:30pm at the Hampstead Garden Suburb Free Church and also participated in a masterclass with Zoë Booth (woodwind), Stefanie Heichelheim (violin/viola) and Gillian Thoday (cello/double bass) last weekend. A huge thank you to the adjudicators for inspiring and insightful lessons and adjudications and to YMC’s students and their teachers for preparing such accomplished performances.
